Partners Around the World

This project is possible only through the generous leadership and support of a variety of individuals and organizations around the world. In particular, this initiative first conceived by members of Rotary clubs in Kenya and the United States. As interest grew and the project expanded, additional partners joined our cause. Below is a brief discussion of Rotary International and our partners with links to their websites.

What is Rotary?

Rotary International:  Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. Approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 32,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas.  In particular, the following Rotary clubs and districts have pledged their support of this project:

Our Partners

Digital Links International and Computers for Schools Kenya:  Established in September 2002, Digital Links is a registered charity in the UK that refurbishes computers for reuse in schools, NGOs, and small enterprises across the developing world. More than 300 companies have used Digital Links to recycle computers and over 1 million people have been given their first access to IT. Computers for Schools Kenya, an affiliate of Digital Links, is dedicated to empowering young Kenyans with ICT skills at literacy level. CFSK has placed nearly 10,000 PCs in more than 370 institutions in Kenya, improving computer skills for over 250,000 students. We are relying on DL and CFSK for the skills training component of our project.

Kilifi District Hospital:  The Kilifi District Hospital is the main medical facility in Kilifi and houses the KEMRI-Wellcome Research Programme, a leading research institute affiliated with the Universities of Oxford and Liverpool conducting clinical and epidemiological research.  We intend to model our health component by expanding on a previous initiative undertaken by the Kilifi District Hospital in Kilifi.
